Phew.
It's been a rough week at work - I've got quite the workload right now and am putting in far more then my nine hour days and you know it is getting to me when I dream about work things too. I'm so thankful I'm heading to the chicago office next week because I need to be around my coworkers (and my wonderfully intelligent boss) to help me with some of this stuff! I know I need to be a little stronger in directing traffic with these projects too, its actually caused a problem now. Everyone has their own opinions on design and language and it can be hard to manage who to please more, ya know? This little "jolt" in the process will get worse with a conference call happening tomorrow - but - it will help in the long run. Thank goodness my boss kicks ass...

Shit.
I haven't been thankful lately.... but I really was over the holiday, just didn't get it out here.
Thanksgiving was awesome, only one thing missing - daddy-o! He worked crazy 16 hour shifts n stuff and will be happy to be here on vacation in december I'm sure. Craziness. I love to watch him eat potatoes, especially since I can't eat them like that anymore. sigh. hee hee
Thankful for family and friends and life in general.... I cried for a whole hour when mom and tracie left, I couldn't help it. I miss them, it was such a good week too.... can't wait to see them again already!

Camping!
1. Dixie was a very good girl while camping, she got scared here and there but loved to explore. I'm thankful we got the chance to do this!
2. Bahia Honda is less than forty miles away from where we live! So freaking beautiful, best beaches ever!
3. We turned off our air conditioning and have the windows open for circulation - finally!
4. Taking down the hurricane shutters means the season is over and we survived this one!
5. An extra day off (hee hee, sorry!)

Time slows down!
Well, with the time change! ha ha
1. I love having it lighter in the morning, looking forward to walking Dixie with the sun up cause I'm not a huge fan of the dark anyway!
2. I'm proud of us for all the weeding/gardening we did today! woo whooo!
3. Raul. Thank godness for doggy sunday school.
4. The weather is freaking awesome and wonderful, a bit cooler but still warm enough for shirts and shorts and oh it is just perfect. Hopefully we can turn the air conditioning off by the end of the week and save a few $$
5. The Packers winning, Jackson is so truly happy when they do and that they're kicking ass this year. ;-)
p.s. Hope Tracie feels better soon! Poor thing has the flu... miss you!

Today was fabulous!
1. Jackson made a chore chart! Oh I fell in love with him all over again. The TV wasn't on and he sat down and did it. Oh, fabulous day. I'll keep you updated on how we do with it!
2. Cake frosting not melting as bad anymore with the weather!
3. Speaking of weather, tropical storm Noel and not coming our way.... hopefully no one will feel her wrath....
4. me coming to grips with this excel worksheet. the boss is reviewing, kinda scared. once its set up though... should be good. can we please get microsoft project though? p-p-please people?
5. sleeping through the night, however, jackson said he got up three times for the dog and I seriously don't remember any of that. I told him to wake me up and I'd take her out next time because I just must have been out. I'm so tired this week though, need sleep! (Feel bad though, Jackson does too)

Hola!
1. Getting up this morning and working out.
2. Seth and Jackson coordinating rides with me so I could work out!
3. Who ever invented fans, it is so hot in here!
4. Dog bones to keep Dixie busy.
5. Excel, although I'm having a love/hate relationship with the program right now, it would be much harder without it entirely!

Monday, again.
1. Some people being on travel and out of the office, helps to get other things accomplished.
2. That the work day is over already, it was a hard one today.
3. Squeaky wisconsin cheese curds almost gone, so I don't gain 500 pounds from them.
4. The weekend in general, because it was nice to have company.
5. People have put their clothes back on in KW.

2. Cabbage soup really not tasting that bad.
3. Lots of work to do, very cool.
4. Dixie did well in her first big girl class, and sleeps a lot during the day.
5. Jackson, who gave me flowers and did the dishes yesterday while I watched TV. That was so nice...

Why hello again....
1. Travel. I love travel, but it did keep me from blogging.
2. Walgreens having cute Christmas tins on sale.
3. Being in a Christmas spirit this year, I've been so bah-humbug the last two.
4. Ceiling fans.
5. Sweetened Dried Cranberries - wouldn't eat them otherwise.
Since I have much to catch up on, some thoughts I had while on travel and no access to a computer at night:
1. iPods - to help motivate me when I do decide to jog, to keep me in deep thought while walking around the city, and for my sister who I know loves her music more then anything else
2. The Wright brothers, I can't imagine life without planes and flying. I miss seeing people get off the plane and greeted by their loved ones, meeting at baggage claim isn't nearly as exciting.... but nonetheless I love planes and airports.
3. Kinda on the same note - toilet seat covers. Especially in Chicago when they rotate on your own, the less you have to touch the better.
4. anti-bacterial gel
5. the ability to sleep on planes, I really do get the best sleep there. My neck may suffer a bit, but its the sacrafice I'm willing to make.
6. Staying in a Marriott again, love it.
7. Hotel rooms with full kitchens - walked to a grocery store and baked a cake for the office. So fun.
8. Law & Order always being on TV for when I want to veg.
9. Living the big city life last week while in Chicago, made me feel really alive!
10. Once again being able to work with an amazing group of people - intelligent, hard-working and that is very inspiring. I love it when you come across good people, especially a group of them!

Ginormous Post
This will be a Fri, Sat, Sun post!
TGIF
1. TGIF. It's just nice to get to the end of the week and have 2 days off!!!
2. Amy. Love my roommate! So much fun to clean and plan the party with!
3. The radio. I love being able to turn off the tv sometimes and get stuff done...having the radio on makes it fun.
4. Shelly for throwing out half my shit. It made it a lot easier to go through and clean up and organize and make it presentable for people this weekend.
5. September ending! I love this time of year!!
SATURDAY!
1. Only having to work a half day -- needed to go home and get shit done!
2. Target having just about everything we needed. The trips to Trader Joe's and Ralph's were quick because of the extensive inventory at Target.
3. Trader Joe's string cheese. Yes, I love it. No, it doesn't love me. And yet, it doesn't matter!
4. Pure Romance and Heather being a trooper!!! Such a fun party!! What a great group of people. Everyone had a great time drinking wine, eating snacks and passing around dildos...oh my! :)
5. Wine and everything! Ok, so I might have polished off a bottle of white wine...and I was feelin groovy! I'm so grateful that Kari and Amy put up with me and made sure that when I faceplanted at the end of the night, I at least faceplanted in my bed.
SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY
1. Sleepin in. I only woke up with a bit of a throbbing headache. I suppose I owe this to the gentleness of the wine hangover as well....
2. Not gaining at WW. I'm choosing to be grateful for this even though it actually pisses me off. :) I didn't lose either, but at least I didn't gain!
3. Easy party clean up. Seriously, between the two of us and the dishwasher, it took no time at all!
4. Afternoon football. If it weren't for two sets of games, I would have had a 0 on the football pool this week...as it stands, I only have 2, but the bright spot is that the Chiefs beat the Chargers! Marty, what?
5. Party leftovers. Amy and I won't have to shop or cook for weeks! :)

Fine. Friday's Five For Fun.
1. Flippin' Flip Flops because you need them in warm weather!
2. Freaking Fudgciles because I'm completely addicted to the giant 1pt option
3. Fall because it will not be blazing hot and in places where leaves change color it is so beautiful.

4. Family because if Jackson still loves me after taking him to a drag show and being a cranky beeotch, I besta be thankful for him!
5. Friday because I really needed it.
(Yesterday: 1. Nikki, you rock my world. 2. Grey's Anatomy not being a disappointment and leaving me wanting more, like the end would have been nice - stupid DVR. 3. Glue, because without it my scrapbooks would suck. 4. Pumpkins - until the last year or so I didn't realize how much I liked pumpkins in food and they are fun to carve and decorate and they are in the stores now! 5. spaghetti squash - because who knew I liked that too. ok, squash in general.)

Three Cheers for Thursday!
Ok, so sometimes the title is my favorite part :p
1. I love S Factor. Love love love. Learned my first "peel." Who woulda thunk that strip tease classes would be so much fun! (On a sidenote: so much more respect for strippers. Need to be in such good shape!!!!)
2. Diner Dash. This game on my cell phone provides no end of amusement.
3. Wine. And weight watchers...see, the combination of no food and 1 glass of wine equals cheap funny buzz. And ony 4 points of wine! :)
4. Jason Morgan. Steve Burton. I'm thinking he needs a shirtless vacation sometime soon! :)
5. www.passiveaggressivenotes.com This website is freakin hilarious!!!

Happy Hump-Day!
Wednesday:
1. I'm grateful that it is the middle of the week. Closer to the weekend - thank you GEEZUS!
2. Evite. So much easier than paper cards...we all know how I am about postage and mailing n'stuff.
3. My big comfy bed. I love it. I didn't want to get up today (Wednesday). So much better than the quasi hospital bed that I used to sleep on. I'll never go back!
4. Willpower. I didn't eat the Arby's!!!! I feel so much better because of it.
5. Texting. When you just can't seem to talk on the phone anymore, thank god for texting.
I know these were lame...but what can you do??? I am grateful for these things!!!

Wa Wa Wa Wednesday!
Wow. Oh, wow.
1. Roosters and chickens on the island. Well, because I love to hear them crow from all different directions on my morning walks and I'd so rather have the experience on and island vs. a farm (where I normally would place them...)
2. Culture. Everyone's culture because its what makes up our wonderful world.... our little island culture here is going to bring me to the "Queen for a day pageant" tonight where Richard from the Restaurant store will crown a new queen... I'm so excited. Now THIS is a way to fundraise baby!
3. Jackson tolerating and entertaining me in attending the "Queen for the Day"
4. Rum, to put in diet coke when you are feeling awkward. Like at a resort that is openly homosexual which is fine, just a little weird at first. ;-)
5. The full moon's energy. I truly love the full moon! I'm goin to drink milk tonight too. Party on Garth.

Totally Tubular Tuesday
or something. I had to walk away from the computer yesterday, too much.
1. Vonage - free long distance on a home phone, it can ring your cell phone at the same time with no extra charges, and your voicemail gets sent to you via email in a .wav file. Oh, and its cheap.
2. Kong toys, because Dixie can't chew them apart.
3. KMART. Did you ever think you would see that in my list? Cause I didn't. But they have an abundant supply of hedgehog plush toys, Dixie's favorite, and we had to replace the one she successfully ripped apart after four weeks. We bought two....
4. Travel reservations baby. United. Marriott.
5. The postman, I got a box of christmas labels and goody labels and stuff and I'm excited. wooowhooo! A shout out to the postman who will be delivering mom's birthday boxes later this week too!

I'll gladly pay you Tuesday...
Ok, so I was super freakin hungry today. UGH. Need to up the protein or something? I find myself wanting to be thankful for the same things every day...100 calorie packs, the crystal light powder to put in water, etc....it's getting difficult to get creative! How sad is that???
1. But I am thankful for the filtered water at work. Nice to be able to refill the water bottles :)
2. The british guy from Alias being on Heroes. LOVE IT.
3. Being done with the 5th Harry Potter book. Finally found out the prophecy! Thanks Dumbledore!
4. Amy's back! The house isn't as scary at night :P
5. Burbank Airport. It's only 10 minutes away. Everyone should fly into there to come visit me!!!

Mu hun duh hay
Yay Monday...
1. DVR. Gotta give a big up to digital video recording. So much nicer than having stacks and stacks of tapes lying around. LOVE IT.
2. Pro Football PickEm and being tied for 1st place! I'm gonna enjoy it while it lasts!!!
3. "California Fall" - I love the cooler air, the breeze, the fact that I need an extra blanket at night...and the fact that the sun is still shining...warm but not super hot!
4. Laptop. I spent years without a computer, and I love being able to get online without having to drive to Shizu's house, or borrow a friend's, or stay at work late...
5. Weight Watchers weekly set up...it's nice to get flex points back, to get to 'start over' of sorts each week, etc.
Umm...seems a little weak, but that's what I got!

1. Thankful for Monday! Why you ask? Because I am WORKING and on Expo stuff that I love and will get paid for it... and... and....

3. that dixie missed Jackson's balls when she bit him between the legs and got his thigh. Haven't heard jackson yell like that before....
4. have I thanked the gods for fat free chocolate everything? oh pms.
5. that I am full before I way over do it tonight. Maybe I should sleep too now to prevent any further cravings, LOL.

S is for Saturday AND Sunday
I counted points, forgot to be grateful. We'll make this ten, a combo list.
1. The Restaurant Store; I do enjoy working there and it gets me out of the house. Plus I love retail during the holiday season which is coming.
2. Speaking of which, I ain't a Christmas grouch this year because I'm already getting excited for the holidays. I'm chalking that up to being happier this year!
3. Naps. I just took one, was so wonderful....
4. Doctors who are on call on Sundays, because poor Dixie has been limping all day and I had to pay $30 urgent care fee just to talk to a vet on the phone. She'll be fine, but I'll take her in tomorrow.
5. The part of the weight watchers website that allows me to build recipes and track points of it. Nice!
6. Jackson for sweeping the floor and doing the dishes. Does he realize how truly amazing it is when he does do that?
7. A whole day without work, but I'm going to ruin that by getting things ready for tomorrow. I got like 15 emails I want to at least be ready for when Monday starts, but I'm also thankful for not really minding about that!
8. My sister for calling. I love it when she calls, I always wish it were more often. I always wonder what she is doing and what is going on....
9. Black beans. Yum. Low fat, high fiber. And sour cream....
10. Being able to complete a list of ten things. Oh wait, I guess that would have to be number eleven really.... let's see.... I slept really really good last night and needed it! Thankful for feeling rested.

The S is for Super...
and Saturday!
1. Saturday. I am grateful for this day of the week every time it comes around. Definitely my favorite!
2. Fall. Or whatever California has that passes for fall. No more blazing, unbearable heat. Today it was sunny but windy - love it!
3. Applebees Weight Watchers menu. How nice that I don't have to look it up for myself. :) Confetti chicken rocks!
4. Not having a child who is 12. I had to pick up a friend's daughter from a party today, and it reminded me of when my mom would pick me up from parties and people would say, "Is that your sister?" and I was like, "Ugh, no that's my mom..." and I realize now that when I was in 6th grade my mom was MY AGE NOW.
5. Flex points. I'm a bad weight watcher. We'll see what the scale says tomorrow. :(

Five For Friday
so what if it's Saturday??? Catching up..
1. Nick. He rocks. AND puts up with me :)
2. Leaving work early - that is never a bad thing!! So nice to get out of there yesterday. too bad I have to work Sunday. :(
3. The carpool lane...traffice would suck even more if it weren't for the carpool lane!!!
4. The Irish Mist and The Whooligans. Such a kick ass little Irish Pub dive bar!!! These guys were so funny and their fiddle player was awesome!!! They were so good it made up for the scary creepy guy that was playing 'air fiddle' and trying to grind on all the girls, all night long.
5. IPod. No commercials and you can make it play only the good songs!
Ok, more than a little jealous of the men in uniform/top gun music experience. I'm grateful that you live on an airstation or whatever it's called :)

It's Friday!
That alone should count!
1. The tropical rain, my plants need it and it keeps are water bill lower!
2. That the Navy has brought us to an air station. You'll NEVER hear me complain about freaking cool fighter jets buzzing the house once in a while!
3. Jackson picking me up for lunch, cause I went to the gym.... and when I got in the car there were his two buddies in the back, they were all in uniform, and had Top Gun playing on the DVD. SO THANKFUL for that experience!
4. Air conditioning at the gym. Need I say more?
5. Treadmills, because when I want to stop I don't have to work to get back to where I need to go...
ha ah ahahah ahhahahahahahhahaaha!

Training Heels
Just to get this out of the way:
HEELS HURT. 5 inch heels hurt 5 times as much!
That said, I'm grateful for:
1. S Factor. No pain, no gain, believe me, but it is so nice to go there and forget about the world for a little while. It's so nice to be able to really clear your mind and not think about the various to do lists, unfinished projects, messy car, apartment, etc.
2. Olga. She rocks. She helped me figure out a project that is going to make things much easier at work now!!! One project down, one to go!
3. Frozen dinners. Yes, I know, it's not the best, but you know what??? It's better than fast food! So my freezer is full of the healthy choice, fatwatchers and lean cuisine. No more fast food. :)
4. Go Country 105.5. I missed my country music while it was gone. Yay for independent radio. Down with Clear Channel! Or something.
5. The internet. Really, I would never know who sang what, which person was in that movie, the date of Michael Hutchence's suicide, how to complete the 3805Z, etc. etc. I may be addicted to google.
I'm feeling like these are a little thin...should there be more that I'm grateful for? Or bigger things??? I dunno. But it's fun to focus on the positive!

Um, today is a hard one.
I may have to start with what I really want to say. The dog keeps barking, its annoying. She has jumped up on the couch all day long and is trying to destroy the Navy pillow. It's hot. I want to jump ahead at work and jump into things full force, but I know I shouldn't because I have so much to learn. Maybe I should ask for a progress report on how I'm doing so I'll stop questioning it.
Ok. Here goes.
1. The zero point list, which I will be memorizing and utilizing daily.
2. The pool guy cleaning the pool today and being nice to the dog cause she loves him when he comes. The pool looks so nice, I am going to go in now!
3. File folders. Although I have yet to master using them, I know they will make me feel great.
4. To have learned so much in my previous job about GSA that I have input and can jump into this position faster.... I think eventually I'll be very good at this...
5. My mother and Nikki, for everything but today in particular for editing and emailing!

Diet coke is so overrated
1. Diet Mountain Dew! Got me past my afternoon starbucks craving!
2. Shelly and the "Fat Girl..." blog...totally kept me from having chocolate today - sho' didn't want to blog about it tomorrow. :)
3. Paul at Tony's shoes in Hollywood -- he is going to extend the ankle strap and make it a 'cankle strap' for me! 5 inch red heels, here I come!! Yeah, I had to start in training heels, the 6 inchers would probably kill me.
4. I am so grateful/thankful/happy/glad/ecstatic that I don't live in Hollywood. It's nice to be close by, but DAMN does parking suck there!!! Thank GOODNESS I got lucky and found a spot...it was 4 blocks from the store (Tony's) but it was all good, I could use the walk, haha.
5. So happy that it is Wednesday night!!! Not only because it is the premier of America's Next Top Model and Kid Nation (reality tv whore much??), but because that means that we are one step closer to the weekend and sleeping in and no work and oh yeah...Nick's here! :)
**Special shout out to my apartment and the 2 pts bars. Much love. :) LOL

I'm melting....
1. Ceiling fans. It is hotter in here today by far....
2. The pool in the backyard. Oh yeah baby...
3. Ice, to keep your drinks cool.
4. Shorts and a tank top as official clothing to wear to work, that is very cool. I don't wear shoes to work either, I know you're jealous.
5. 40 calorie fudge pops.... need I say more?

It's NOT hot!
Sorry, I'm just so excited that we didn't use the airconditioner today!
1. WW 2 pts bars. Yay for low-fat candy!! Completely hit the spot today for the afternoon snack!
2. Biggest Loser. Watching the show totally stopped me from eating my fries tonight and kept me at 29 points for the day (total I'm allowed is 31)
3. Crystal Light powder stuff to put in water. Makes it so much easier to drink!!! I realize that these are mostly focused on food and weight, but you know how it is when you really get on program!!
4. Lower gas prices. It doesn't cost a million dollars to fill up my tank! It's just nice to be paying less than $3.00/gallon. But when did 2.89 become ok??? It should be $1.00!!! We're just desensitized. But I digress. At least it's not $6.00/gallon, right?
5. Diner Dash. This little game on my cell phone fills the gaps in my day!
Yeah, I'm a little short on things to be grateful for today...how sad is that???
Honorable mention goes to: DWLZ and weightwatchers.com

It's hot.
That was the first thing that came to mind.
1. The FedEx man. He brought me new toys and treats to give to puppy and that makes us both happy. He also brought me a printer for work, too bad I don't yet have the computer!
2. The commissary on base. I love grocery shopping anyway, and having good prices makes me happier. (Although my next thought is how I have to go to three different grocery stores here to get everything I want, but nonetheless the good outweigh the bad).... and oh, I like that. Can use that on your other blog, right?! ha!
3. Digital Cameras. I love the ease to which we can take pictures, but I have so many I don't know what to do with them either. LOL
4. Home-made bean burritos, they taste better and are so much better for you. I love them, and food in general.
5. Being the new guy, I think I jumped the gun on explaining a deadline I myself didn't know enough about. At least tomorrow I'll be able to say I'm sorry and blame being the new guy and being excited to jump into things.... right?!

A is for
Alcohol! :)
1. Key Lime Pie martinis. Whoever thought this liquid yum is pure genius, and I thank you.
2. Morning wake up calls, and Nick's persistance. Today I had a client meeting right at 8:30 (or so I thought. Client was running late, but I didn't know that before going to bed Sunday night) and he kept callin' me and callin' me....and I made it to work on time! (Yes, I miss your wake up calls too, SC!) Part B of this one is SHORT COMMUTES. 4.5 miles in about 20 minutes. LOVE IT.
3. I am grateful/thankful for having young grandparents. I want them around forever. Is that too much to ask???
4. Harry Potter, boy wizard. Nah, that's icky. But I am thankful for the Harry Potter books. I haven't read much past the third chapter, and I'm on the 5th book! I only cried a little when I found out it was 700+ pages. :(
5. I am so grateful that tomorrow is the 18th, which means that the corporate tax deadline has passed! Returns are filed. Onward to 10/15! :)

Workin' Girl Baby!
1. Grateful to start full time again with GSA. I'm excited to learn this end of the marketing division and work on Expo again!
2. Thank goodness Dixie was tired today, walked her at 6am and 6:30am before work and it seemed to work like a charm. Maybe a part of it is that she is settling in here because just about 4:20 in the afternoon she popped up by the window and Jackson got home about twenty minutes later! It was really cute. (This chair is the only thing she is allowed to sit on, how can I say no to this? sigh.)
3. I'm so thankful for this house. We're homeowners. Wow. Married. With a dog. On an island. That's a whole list of things to be thankful for...
4. Diet Cherry Coke. I'm trying to limit soda intake altogether, but a little Cherry makes it so much better.
5. Our grill. Thank you to our NMCB FIVE family! Makes dinner so easy, and doesn't heat up the house any more then God does. Speaking of which, time to get the BBQ going! ;-)

La Una Dia...or something
Ok...Gratitude journal...it's so unlike me to be grateful...it's so much easier to be whiny!
5 things I'm grateful for...
1. My apartment. More specifically my living room. And having my own bathroom. Here's to not having to stay in one room in order to avoid the crazies!!! Not that I didn't love my old roommate-family...I just LOVE my own space (and not to mention current roomie) a whole lot more. I am honestly grateful every day for apartment #5!
2. My job. If I get past the whole I dislike being in an office all day and am much more an english major than an accountant, I am definitely grateful for my co-workers and the fact that I am able to support myself with the paycheck. :)
Ok, here is where it got hard...and that's just sad. Shouldn't I have a lot more to be grateful for?
3. I'm grateful for my family...is that cliche? I guess so, but it's true anyway!!
4. I'm grateful for cooler weather. It's finally getting below 100 degrees in the valley, and it sort of has changed to that fall-like feeling...well, fall for California anyway! It's just nice not to feel completely beaten down by the heat just by walking out the door.
5. Aircondition guy Boris. I LOVE BORIS. After two months and two failed attempts to fix our airconditioner Boris came to the rescue on Labor day with a replacement. LOVE IT! Now we don't spend our nights sitting in front of the fan trying not to move!
I feel slightly lame...but it's a start, right???

Day One
I'm tired. Oprah said find five things I'm grateful for everyday....
1. Jackson played a lot with Dixie this weekend, I really needed a break. Feel like I'm caught up on sleep...
2. The flowers in the backyard seem to being doing quite well. They make me think of Tracie all the time...
3. There is not an abundance of ice cream available to me at this moment. I'd regret it in the morning.
4. I love Key West weather, my socks miss me... but I still see them when I workout.
5. The internet... it can cause a lot of people problems, but sometimes we need an outlet like this and a blog to make sure we write things down. What happened to the WW points blog?!
ha ha
Goodnight.
